If your sim is a young adult or older, they won't be able to do romantic interactions with teens. So you'll know the person is young adult or older if they can.
Elders are very obvious; they have grey hair and hunch over when they walk.
Young adults and adults, I haven't figured out a way to tell the difference, except by knowing the sim when my sim was younger.
Edit: Oh yes, Etak is right. When you host a party, it shows their ages when you mouse over the bars next to them. Kudos to you.DATING IN SIMS 3!!! PLEASE HELP?
you can't figure that out, you just kind of have to guess
