The whole idea of dating sims and visual novels and that sort of thing has only recently been picking up in the west, and so far the companies doing licensing/translations have only stuck to PC games, since they are the easiest and cheapest.Are there any English anime dating sims for PS2, PS3, Wii or DS?
Not very many, because consoles are NOT an open market and the big companies are highly reluctant to put the games out in English, since people are awfully nasty about the whole concept. There are SEVERAL rpgs with a little bit of dating aspect to them. Not so many games that are really strongly about dating (and most of them are on the DS)
Your best bet is Sakura Wars: So Long My Love, which is half dating sim and half mecha combat game, available for the PS2 or the Wii.
On the DS you can find a couple of titles like Princess Debut (meant for girls, and youngish girls at that), Sprung, or Brooktown High. Beyond that, you have to look at RPGs or sims like Harvest Moon, which often include romance on the side.
Mostly, if you want an English dating sim you need to stay on the PC, where it's possible for indies to make small games and sell them themselves without having to get a big company's permission. They don't sell much, but they need a much smaller number of sales to stay afloat than they would on consoles. There are a lot of people selling such games for the PC - find those that you like best and buy from them to help them keep going and they'll keep putting out more games.Are there any English anime dating sims for PS2, PS3, Wii or DS?
